There a numerous programs that will count the number of lines in files and whether this provides any useful information is not debatable as it doesn’t really it just answers a question people like to know. I always wondered why with so many free cross platform GUI toolkits the reason various companies would create they own toolkit in the name of wanting a cross platform GUI, or for that matter puchase one. The makers of SlickEdit and Pixel32 both use their own proprietary toolkits as do many others. I have been investigating the free toolkits and come to understand why they do it. I encountered Inkscape for the first time a while ago and returned to it when I wanted to make the logo for this site. Another section added to the blog. Yep reviews. I seem to spend a reasonable amount of time fiddling/investigating programs so I figured I might as well put some of my finding onto the web in the form of mini reviews.
I am sure on the format these review will evolve over time, particularly as it will only get irregular posts. I don’t intend to make this a site containing lots of reviews.
