Progress on everything feels a little slow at the moment. Well any project to note that is. With SpiderSynth I seem to keep loosing track of what to do next. That means I need to get a little bit more organised. Set my targets for each release and track the finer grained progress and things that are left to complete.
I have just about finished reading this book on Scala. I have not digested it all yet but overall I think me and scala are going to get on quite well. I sort of knew this from the early bits of code I have played with. Now if the tool support could appear I would be more willing to tackle large project in it.

Well I am not really into just posting up likes but today I though hey why not seeing as I have not posted anything in quite a while.
So here is a game developer, who runs his own single person game development business, that decided to find try to find out why people pirate his game. Yep it has been on lots of new sites etc but I figured i should link to his report. Basically he asked people who pirate his games to email him with the reasons why. He seems to have taken on some of the comments on board and is altering his approach to business slightly. I guess the real test is whether his alteration are effective over a longer time period. Here is the link. Piracy can and has killed computers as games platforms in the past, Just look at what happened to computers like the Amiga and Atari ST. If people pirate games on the PC then companies no longer support it as it becomes less cost effective – they move to consoles, iphone or something else. If you like playing games on your PC buy them don’t pirate them.
In other news the beta for NetBeans6.5 is out. I have not had much time to play with it yet so I can’t comment yet.
